GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The mouth of Lake Hamana, where it joins the Pacific Ocean, is known as Imagiri (literally, 'now broken'). In 1499, an earthquake and tidal wave washed away the land which separated the two bodies of water.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Kakegawa was the turning off point for Akiba Shrine, located at the top of Mt. Akiba, some 20 miles away. In this scene, kites fly over laborers in the rice fields as travelers make their way over the bridge.
