Because we believe that art is a gift meant for all, general admission to the DMA is free. However, to ensure an optimal guest experience, we require visitors to have a ticket for entry.

Please note that special exhibition tickets must be purchased after your free general admission ticket has been reserved.

General admission is free with a ticket and includes viewing the Museum's collection galleries and most exhibitions.

Special Exhibitions

To experience special exhibitions, you’ll need two tickets —your free general admission ticket, and a separate ticket you will then purchase for the special exhibition. A special exhibition ticket alone will not enable you to enter the DMA. 

Children 11 and under are free, but still require a ticket.

DMA Members can reserve free tickets online, and all exhibitions are free for DMA Members. Please note that both a General Admission and Special Exhibition reservation with a timed ticket are required for every person, regardless of age.

VISITOR GUIDELINES

To make the DMA a safe and enjoyable place for our visitors, volunteers, and staff, please note the following guidelines.

General

  • Visitors must have a general admission ticket for entry.
  • Face coverings are no longer required indoors for fully vaccinated visitors and staff; however, face coverings are recommended to maximize protection per CDC guidance.
  • Tape on the floor near a work of art indicates how far away you should stand from the object. A good general rule is to stand at least three feet away from a work of art.
  • Please do not touch any work of art or Plexiglass casing, including outdoor sculptures.

 

Food, Drink, and Tobacco

  • No outside food and drink in the DMA galleries, in the DMA Cafe, or at Socca
  • No outside alcohol and glass containers on Eagle Family Plaza or in the Museum's outdoor gallery spaces
  • No smoking or vaping anywhere in the DMA, including outdoor Museum spaces, the DMA parking garage, and in front of the entrances
  • Picnics are allowed on the lawn of Eagle Family Plaza, in the Sculpture Garden, and in Fleischner Courtyard

 

Photography and Art Supplies

  • Non-flash photography is permitted unless otherwise indicated.
  • Selfie sticks, tripods and monopods are not permitted.
  • Sketchbooks and pencils are permitted, but no other art supplies are allowed.

 

Other

  • Leashed pets are permitted on Ross Avenue Plaza and Eagle Family Plaza
  • The use of recreational equipment, including soccer balls, footballs, Frisbees, bicycles, skateboards, and rollerblades is not allowed in Eagle Family Plaza or in the Museum's outdoor gallery spaces.


As a public Museum, we reserve the right to use photography of any individual in our education or promotional materials displayed in print or on the internet.
