Group settings are a powerful way to have a shared experience of art. Imagine the possibilities for your group — spend an hour in the collection galleries, go deep into a special exhibition, or make a daylong adventure of it, including lunch in the Cafe.
For the safety and well-being of our guests and staff, all guided group offerings are currently limited to 20 people.
We encourage groups of 10 or more people visiting the Museum to reach out to us a minimum of three weeks prior to your visit so that we may aid with your planning. For the best experience, groups should plan to visit on weekdays.
Please review all Visitor Guidelines prior to your visit. We ask that groups assign one leader for check-in and group assistance. While in the galleries, please be mindful of space and capacity limits.
Interested in a School Tour? The DMA offers a variety of tours to engage students and connect to classroom practice. Please email schoolprograms@dma.org to make arrangements that work best for your classroom needs.
Get your tickets, and schedule any optional group experiences, by completing this form or contacting the Group Sales team at groupsales@dma.org.
Your group can choose from three types of Museum experiences.
Time: Open-ended
Bring your group of any size to explore the DMA your way without a guide. You can book your own tickets, or we can assist you in booking.
General admission is free, and free general admission tickets are required. Special exhibition tickets are not discounted for groups.
Time: One Hour
Private one-hour tours of our collection galleries or special exhibitions, led by our trained docents, are a great way for your group to experience the DMA. To secure a date that works for your group, we encourage you to schedule as far in advance as possible.
Private tours must be coordinated a minimum of three weeks in advance.
Time: One Hour
Dive into the art with a 20-minute lecture-style overview from one of the DMA’s trained docents, and then visit the gallery at your leisure. Your docent will join you in the gallery for the remainder of the hour and be available to answer questions and engage in in-depth conversation about the art as your group explores. To secure a date that works for your group, we encourage you to schedule as far in advance as possible.
Art & Talk must be coordinated a minimum of three weeks in advance.
