Andrew Dasburg (1887-1979)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Andrew Dasburg was born in Paris in 1887. After his father died he moved with his mother to Nittel, Germany and in 1892 to New York City. He was injured in a fall, and in 1894 he attended a school for crippled children where he learned how to draw and work with wood and metal. In 1902, Dasburg went to study at the Art Students League where he studied under Robert Henri.
Everett Franklin Spruce (1908-2002)

Born in 1908 near Conway, Arkansas, Everett Franklin Spruce was raised on an apple and peach farm in the Ozark Mountains. He graduated from high school in Mulberry, Arkansas, and around that time met Olin and Kathryn Travis, whose summer art camp was nearby.
