Phil Collins (British, b. 1970) was born in in Runcorn, England, and received a BA in English literature and drama from the University of Manchester and an MA in fine art from the University of Ulster, Belfast. He was part of the London-based performance group Max Factory.

The resources of this rich maritime environment have played a significant role in the region's cultures. Birds, fish, shellfish, and many sea mammals— sea otters, whales, seals, sea lions, and walrus—provide food, and from the sea mammals come other products such as oil, skins, and ivory.
