This summer, join us as we take inspiration from the Arts of the Americas collection. Participants will create original artworks and learn about the artistic practices of Indigenous peoples of the Americas from past to present.

Citywide Youth Summer Art Programs are free for all participants at Dallas Public Libraries, plus recreation, cultural, and community organizations.

There are two program format options:

  1. Art kit distribution/drop-off at your site
Kits will contain thematic art supplies for up to 30 youth, bilingual activity instructions, and a link to a video of a guest artist. Kits can be dropped off to your site and left with a summer program facilitator, or can be distributed at your site by a DMA staff member for one hour.

  2. 1-hour-long workshop at your site
Small scale in-person workshops can take place outside or socially distanced inside. Workshops will be facilitated by DMA staff or a guest artist; tables and chairs for participants must be provided by your site.

Citywide Youth Summer Art Programs are recommended for youth ages 6–12 and will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from June 8 to August 16, 2021. Fill out this form to indicate when and where you'd like to have art kits distributed to your community!
