The DMA Teen Advisory Council (TAC) is a group of dynamic high-school–age leaders who shape the direction of how the Museum engages teens and youth audiences.
The TAC direct all aspects of our annual Teen Night and Teen Renaissance student art exhibition, and lend their insights on DMA initiatives. Council members commit to a year of service, and meet twice a month on Thursday evenings to work on projects.
Applications are available on this page starting in late July or early August each year. If you can’t apply online or need additional support, email us or call 214-922-1822.
You will be asked to provide contact information for yourself and your caregiver, and a personal reference. You will also provide answers to three short-answer questions. Answer the questions honestly and in your own voice. It helps us get a better sense of who you are!
DFW-based teens between the ages of 14 and 19 who have an interest inart, culture, community engagement, and museum work are invited to apply. Applicants must be available during the school year to attend
Thursday meetings twice per month from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DMA, with occasional events and programming on weekends.
As a Teen Advisory Council member, you will get hands-on opportunities to develop leadership, interpersonal, and professional skills as you work on projects. You’ll also go behind the scenes to meet DMA staff members, artists, and community members.
Teen Advisory Council members also receive:
- A $200 stipend paid twice a year
- Free parking in the DMA Garage
- Free admission to special exhibitions
- Discounts in the DMA Store and DMA Cafe, and for certain special events
