July 11-15, 2022 | 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

An immersive summer program for educators presented by The Warehouse, Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas Museum of Art, Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and Kimbell Art Museum

Participating middle and high school teachers in all disciplines are invited to:

  • Participate in group discussions and creative activities designed to deepen understanding of contemporary and modern art and architecture 
  • Develop strategies to teach, interpret, and use works of art
  • Connect with thematic explorations of collections, resources, and staff from each museum 
  • Exchange ideas with other classroom teachers

The DMA Education Department provides in-service training for K–12 teachers, offering an overview of DMA  teaching resources, gallery visits, and hands-on activities. Please note that in-services must be scheduled at least one month in advance to allow for planning.

Costs
Groups of 20 or fewer: $100
Groups of 21 or more: $150

The Thankful Poor

Request a free educational poster for your classroom highlighting Henry Ossawa Tanner, an important Black American artist working at the turn of the 20th century. The poster features a full-color reproduction of the artist's painting The Thankful Poor, and includes information on Tanner, teaching ideas, and behind-the-scenes information on the treatment of the work at the DMA's Conservation Studio in Spanish and English.
