ACTOR BIOS

Born and raised in Pakistan, Maryam Obaidullah Baig’s many credits include writing and directing Ban the Tal through Project X Dallas, a multimedia performance about the birth, rise, and ideology of the Taliban, and BeXchanged at UT Dallas, a performance documenting the nuclear arms race between India and Pakistan. As an actor, she has appeared as the Fool in King Lear at Shakespeare Dallas, as Frida with Cara Mia Theatre, and many other productions. She is also the voice of Jerez in Dragon Ball Super. Currently, she serves as Director of Marketing & Special Events at Human Rights Initiative of North Texas and teaches Theatre at UT Dallas.

Kenya Flippin is currently a BFA acting and film student at Southern Methodist University. She most recently participated in #Enough: Plays to End Gun Violencea collaboration between Kitchen Dog Theater (KDT) and SMU's Division of Theatre to present a nationwide reading of seven winning plays from a national short play competition for middle and high school students. Students from SMU’s Division of Theater stage-managed and performed the plays via Zoom. Flippin graduated from South Carolina’s School for the Arts and Humanities, where she starred as Denise Savage in Savage in Limbo by John Patrick Shanley in the annual senior showcase.

Marcia Gay Harden is one of the most celebrated actors of her generation. In 2001 she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of the painter Lee Krasner in Pollock, and in 2009 she won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her portrayal of Veronica in Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage. Her films include Miller’s Crossing, The First Wives Club, Mystic River (for which she received a second Academy Award nomination), Into the Wild, Magic in the Moonlight, and Fifty Shades of Grey. Her television credits include The Morning ShowLaw & Order: Special Victim’s Unit, The Newsroom, How to Get Away with Murder, and Code Black.

Academy Award–winning actor Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers' Club) is a married man, a father of three children, and a loyal son and brother. He considers himself a storyteller by occupation, believes it’s okay to have a beer on the way to the temple, feels better with a day’s sweat on him, and is an aspiring orchestral conductor. In 2009 he and his wife, Camila, founded the just keep livin Foundation, which helps at-risk high school students make healthier mind, body, and spirit choices. In 2019, McConaughey became a professor of practice at the University of Texas at Austin, as well as Minister of Culture/M.O.C. for the University of Texas and the City of Austin. McConaughey is also brand ambassador for Lincoln Motor Company, an owner of the Major League Soccer club Austin FC, and co-creator of his favorite bourbon on the planet, Wild Turkey Longbranch. His unconventional memoir Greenlights is filled with raucous stories, outlaw wisdom, and lessons learned the hard way about living with greater satisfaction. 

Dallas actor, director, and educator Chris Ramirez is a member of the Diane and Hal Brierley Resident Acting Company at the Tony Award-winning Dallas Theater Center. His acting credits include: In the HeightsAmerican MariachiTwelfth NightSWEAT, White Rabbit Red RabbitHair, and Hood: The Robin Hood Musical Adventure. His directing credits with Junior Players include:  Little Shop of Horrors and co-director of RENT and Romeo and Juliet. This fall, Chris will be directing Twelfth Night: The Rock Musical, as well as an original play he co-wrote, LUCHA TEOTL, as part of the 2021 AT&T Elevator Project.
