For renowned chef and New York Times bestselling cookbook author Yotam Ottolenghi, food is about more than what we eat. It is about joy, pleasure, and surprise. It is about a sense of place, home, and community. At this event, Ottolenghi will share insights about food, cooking, and more in a conversation with Cafe Momentum Founder/CEO/Executive Chef Chad Houser.
Ottolenghi is widely beloved for his beautiful and inspirational cookbooks, which have sold over five million copies worldwide and have been named among the best books of the year by the New York Times and NPR. These include Jerusalem (2012), his collaboration with Palestinian chef Sami Tamimi, which was awarded Cookbook of the Year by the International Association of Culinary Professionals and Best International Cookbook by the James Beard Foundation. Bon Appétit wrote that he had “made the world love vegetables.”
Flavor, his latest cookbook, showcases a revolutionary approach to vegetable cooking with 100+ low-effort, high-impact recipes designed for the relaxed cook. Discover how to unlock new depths of flavor by pairing vegetables with sweetness, fat, acidity, or chile heat, and learn to identify the produce that has the innate ability to make dishes shine.
Yotam Ottolenghi grew up in Israel and spent childhood summers in Italy. Based in London, where he co-owns an eponymous group of deli shops and the fine dining restaurants NOPI and ROVI, Ottolenghi spends much of his time creating and testing recipes for his weekly column in the Guardian and his monthly column in the New York Times.
“My biggest strength is not how I cook, but how I get people to work in a team.”
