Performance at 2:00 p.m., Tour* at 3:00 p.m.

Join the Dallas Opera and Dallas Museum of Art in a special presentation of Music and Masterpieces, combining song and art in a unique way. Baritone Corey Crider will perform selections incorporating the poetry of Robert Louis Stevenson and Shakespeare with music by prolific composers. A Museum tour, highlighting works of art inspired by the themes of the performance, will immediately follow.

Crider’s recital will include songs by composers Ralph Vaughan Williams (Songs of Travel), Gerald Finzi (Let Us Garlands Bring), Ambroise Thomas (aria from Hamlet), Giuseppe Verdi (Otello), and Cole Porter (Kiss Me, Kate). Themes featured reflect on a range of profound emotion including springtime love, wanderlust, heartache, and fate. Crider’s recent performances include the reprise of his celebrated Sweeney Todd with Opera Roanoke, Sharpless in Madame Butterfly with Dayton Opera, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte with the Sarasota Opera, Escamillo in Carmen with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and Handel’s Messiah with Augustana College.

*Space on the tour is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis the day of the event.
