GENERAL DESCRIPTION
A towpath is the route adjacent to a waterway where horses walk as they tow small canal boats. The combination of animal power with flotation was critical to the movement of people and goods prior to railroads and in areas where waterways outnumbered routes on solid ground.
NOTES
Created this as a quick glossary term while working on Jongkind objects.
The rule, apply to content where content contains towpath, will link to 3 Jongkind-related objects/essays as of Dec 2016. This seems suitable since the term may not apply to many more objects in the PC.
his note was previously tagged #routed (and possibly !Routed_Feb15). I am removing those tags and replacing with #draft so that this note proceeds to GDocs for routing and is harvested to Brain. (EAS, 12/26/2016)
