Mulatto

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Historically, the label "mulatto" was used by some as a way to classify and discriminate against individuals identified as having multi-racial ancestry—particularly persons who had (or were assumed to have) both white and black heritage. As societal views on race changed and scientific studies revealed that common genetic ancestry does not dictate physical characteristics such as skin color, this type of derogatory term fell out of common parlance.

NOTES
Removed TMS tag for 2005.34.McD as part of the October 2015 revision process

This note was routed in Feb 2015. I am adding the draft tag so that this note is pushed into GDrive and can be moved to Queta's folder and tagged complete after the UMO asset is reviewed.

As the rule appears now- it will reach once object note (2005.34.McD) and one object (1945.21)

This note was routed in 2015 and revised in 2017. I am removing the routed tag and adding the completed tag as of March 8, 2017.
