GENERAL DESCRIPTION    
This watercolor may be one of approximately six hundred political and social cartoons produced by Franz Wacik for Die Muskete, a weekly humor magazine, between 1906 and 1919. In addition to his contributions to this publication, Wacik also designed theater sets, interiors, and, like Carl Otto Czeschka, volumes in publisher Gerlach & Weidling’s Jugendbücherei (Youth Library) series.
