1984.202.6 Totsuka: Motomachi Detour



GENERAL DESCRIPTION    
Totsuka was the first night's resting spot for travelers from Edo (now Tōkyō ), who had covered approximately 23 miles on their first day's journey. The traveler in this print is mounting his horse at a rice shop that is still standing today.
