GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Travelers from Edo (now Tōkyō) to Kyōto moved in a general southwesterly or westerly direction, with Mt. Fuji on their right; however, this zigzagging section of road near Yoshiwara was famous as the only point where Mt. Fuji appeared on the traveler's left.
