1984.202.18 Okitsu: The Okitsu River



GENERAL DESCRIPTION    
Okitsu is the site of Minaguchiya, the inn made famous in modern times by Oliver Statler in Japanese Inn (1961). In this humorous scene, two heavy sumo wrestlers are carried across the Okitsu River, one by kago (palanquin) and one by packhorse.
