GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This textured glass plate is a prototype of an unrealized collaboration between designer Russel Wright and manufacturer Fostoria Glass Company. Unsatisfied with the results of Wright’s experiments, Fostoria did not produce it commercially. Thereafter Wright designed Snow Glass, a line of textured glass produced by Paden City Glass Company to accompany its Highlight stoneware.
Drawn from
Ann Kerr, The Collector's Encyclopedia of Russel Wright Designs (Paducah, KY: Collector Books, 1990), 140-141.
