"Fulton House, Fulton
This is the Fulton House as I saw it in the late thirties. It had been there, on Arkansas Bay, since 1876, and had witnessed some elegant living...George Fulton wealthy cattleman built central-heating unit which warmed entire mansion, basement had laundry, clothes dryer, series of troughs to cool food properly, etc.

An Exhibition of Paintings and Drawings by E.M. Schiwetz-
"E.M. Schiwetz is a Texas artist whose development has been influenced by a great diversity of professional interests. Much of his art production for years has been for advertising and in depicting the activities of the petroleum industry in the Gulf Coast area. This period provided the artist with a severe discipline in observing the factual side of processes, industries, and particular sections of this region. He made hundreds of careful pencil studies and many watercolors, drawings, and prints.
Now painting full time and at full tilt, Schiwetz is re-examining his experiences, developing pictures which have spirit as well as bold delineation. His most recent paintings, to be seen in this exhibition, possess great vitality, rich plastic color, and intriguing subject interest. At all times this painter searches the cities, the landscape, and the activities of people for the character which gives individuality to a region, but beyond this is a new-found ability to give graphic power to his ideas."
