FUN FACTS
- This print, which depicts the negative impact of swarms of grasshoppers on American farmers in the 1930s, is reminiscent of a trend in trick photography known as exaggerated or tall-tale postcards. In these images, an animal, food, or other object would be represented in an disproportionately large scale, often to demonstrate agricultural abundance. This type of imagery was also used as a humorous tool to cope with the devastating effects of climate problems which plagued 1930s America.
