GENERAL DESCRIPTION
NOTES
n.d.
Justification: Kirchner was the dominant personality of the group of young artist who in 1905 in Dresden founded the Brucke movement, which marked the second wave of Expressionism. He was not only a painter but a sculptor and graphic artist as well. His immense output of drawings forms an important part of his work as a whole, and the museum is fortunate to be able to add this example by an important European artist not previously represented in the collection.
