2005.25.12, Ward Bennett, Bowl, c. 1970-80

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Ward Bennett, who designed silver for Tiffany & Co. in the 1960s, created his own line of holloware for a short period in the 1970s and early 1980s. This bowl reflects a subtle, sophisticated modeling of form, stripped of all decoration, revealing the influence of Bennett's earlier experience in ceramics and sculpture, as well as his predilection for minimalism.
