1977.11 Albrecht Durer, A Lady on Horseback and a Lansquenet


GENERAL DESCRIPTION  
As with many of Albrecht Dürer's early engravings, the exact meaning of the subject of this print remains uncertain. Some scholars have suggested that it may represent a noblewoman in love with her squire.

Deleted the text in the exhibition history field for "With Black Lines Only" because it was duplicated by an exhibition record already entered in TMS and related to this object.
