2005.40, Jeff Burton, Untitled #201 (foot with grass), 2005, print on metal panel

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The erotic glamour of southern California is at the center of Jeff Burton's photography. Burton takes his audience to the sets of San Fernando Valley's adult film industry, positioning the viewer in the bedroom-or the on the lawn or by the pool or couch-as a coincidental voyeur, failing at taking discreet glances but unable to resist staring. In this photograph, a tan, glistening leg is thrust upward behind a chair, wet grass sticks to the bottom of the foot. Burton's body of work makes it easy to guess a sexual act is taking place, but the details are left to the viewer's imagination.
