GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This decorative nude study is typical of the work of Arthur Bowen Davies, whose subjects often contained a mixture of pastoral imagery and stylized, imaginary landscapes. A friend and admirer of dancer and choreographer Isadora Duncan, Davies was frequently inspired by the movements of modern dance, which his sinuous lines echo.
