GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Wyatt Khan’s works exist somewhere between painting and sculpture. The artist arranges raw canvases of unusual but complementary shapes and sizes, and affixes them to each other to create the semblance of a single panel. The thin gaps between pieces resemble geometric or abstract forms, appearing as connecting lines through the canvases when they are in fact fractures in the work’s surface. While at first glance the work appears monochromatic and coherent, the overall composition reveals—and embraces—many imperfections.
