GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Jurgen Bey is a prolific Dutch designer whose oeuvre spans numerous categories, including product, furniture, interior, and public space design. Born in Soest, the Netherlands in 1965, Bey is a graduate of the Design Academy Eidhoven, and he taught at both his alma mater and the Rotal College of Art in London while also operating independent or cooperative design studios. In addition to the designer collective named Droog, Bey has collaborated with Royal Tichelaar Makkum and Moooi. In 2002, Bey and Rianne Makkink formed Studio Makkink & Bey, which seeks to analyze and address the relationship between humans and things through the applied arts, including public space, architecture, interior, exhibition, and product design.
