Louise Campbell (b. 1970)

Born in Copenhagen, Louise Campbell graduated from the London College of Furniture in 1992 and continued her studies at Denmark’s Institute of Industrial Design, where she graduated in 1995. Since establishing her Copenhagen studio in that year, Campbell’s clients have included Louis Poulsen, Zanotta, HAY, Royal Copenhagen, Holmegaard, Stelton, Muuto, Interstop, and The Danish Ministry of Culture. In 2002 and 2003 she was the recipient of State Arts Council awards for her work; in 2004 she received the Finn Juhl Architectural Award; and in 2007, the Thorvald Bindesbøll Medal and The Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum. Her work, including furniture, ceramics, lighting design and other media, has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions, including ones held at SimSum, Madrid (2006), Epal, Iceland (2004) and Quick, Quick, Slow for the Danish Design Centre (2002). She has served the Danish Arts Foundation as the chair for design and crafts, the Danish Design Council as a committee member, and the Danish Design Centre as a board member.
