Honorée Fanonne Jeffers is the author of five critically acclaimed books of poetry. Her most recent, The Age of Phillis, was longlisted for the 2020 National Book Award in Poetry and won the 2021 NAACP Image Award for Literary Work. Jeffers is a professor of English at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, where she has taught since 2002, and holds the distinction of being the first Black full professor in the history of the department.
