Enjoy a free talk and guided meditations with American Buddhist Monk Gen Kelsang Menla. Free self-guided tours of the Dallas Museum of Art's collection will be available before and after the talk.
About the Talk
We normally try to find happiness outside ourselves through various activities, accomplishments, possessions, or experiences. Although we work very hard to seek happiness in this way, we never feel fully satisfied. So why do we continually look outside ourselves when it can easily be found within our own peaceful heart?
Buddha’s simple message is that attachment makes us believe in something that isn’t ultimately true—that happiness is outside of us. Through meditation we can come back to ourselves, see through the limiting nature of attachment, and find a deep happiness and contentment from within.
Join us for meditation and Buddhist wisdom on how to get unstuck by learning to let go of attachments, thereby experiencing real happiness from the inside out. Gen Kelsang Menla will draw from the inspiring and enlightening book The New Meditation Handbook and the meditation audio series Living Meditation.
