Step back in time to 18th-century France at the second annual Rosenberg Fête celebrating French painting and sculpture from the Michael L. Rosenberg Collection. 

 

 

 

 

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Performance: 18th-Century Music
5:00–7:00 p.m., Atrium
Start your evening with French and European music from the 18th century performed by members of the Dallas Chamber Symphony while enjoying drink specials and food inspired by the Michael L. Rosenberg Collection of French painting and sculpture. Flexible, collaborative, and innovative, the Dallas Chamber Symphony engages audiences at Dallas City Performance Hall and in a variety
of community venues through DCS Live! Outreach.

Self-Guided Tour: Bathing Beauties
5:00–9:00 p.m., Pick up a self-guide at the main Visitor Services Desk
Beginning with François Lemoyne's The Bather from the Rosenberg Collection, take a bite-sized tour of the DMA's collection and see how artists throughout the centuries have approached this familiar subject. 

Art Activity: Sketching in the Galleries
6:00–6:45 p.m., European Galleries, Level 2
Pick up a pencil and sketch pad and re-create your favorite work from the Michael L. Rosenberg Collection of French painting and sculpture. Local artist Jay Bailey will be on hand to share figure drawing techniques with you.  

Talk: Bathing Beauties and the French Rococo: François Lemoyne and François Boucher
7:00–8:00 p.m., Horchow Auditorium
Colin B. Bailey, Director of the Morgan Library & Museum, will talk about François Lemoyne’s The Bather and other bathing scenes from the 18th century.

Performance: Classical Music in the Galleries
8:00–9:00 p.m., European Galleries, Level 2
As you explore the Michael L. Rosenberg Collection, let students from Booker T. Washington serenade you with classic European music from the 18th century. 

Art Activity: Sketching in the Galleries

Sketch your favorite portrait from the Michael L. Rosenberg Collection of French painting and sculpture. Local artist Jay Bailey will be on hand to share sketching techniques with you.
