Dr. Adam Herring, Associate Professor of Art History at Southern Methodist University, and Dr. Robert Milnes, professor and dean of the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas, offer two perspectives on ceramics in the DMA's collection. Dr. Herring will bring the historical and cultural perspectives to the pieces, while Dr. Milnes, a trained ceramicist and practicing artist, will discuss the technical aspects, as well as the processes used to make the ancient pieces. Following short presentations, the two will compare notes and dig deep into the historical world of ceramics.
