2005.104, Zaha Hadid, "Bench," designed 2003, executed 2006

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
In the fusion of function and form, Zaha Hadid created seating that is both sculpture and furniture. Hadid's bench is an echo of streamlined modernity from the Art Deco era, yet in its fully formed, seamless curved character and gleaming media-screenlike sheen, it bears the unmistakable imprint of our own time.
