From the catalogue: "Interestingly enough, if one compares this rather fastidious and whimsical scene with one done two years later titled Rock and Cedar (cat. 106), there is in the later work a softening of form and a less overt stylization, a trend that would become increasingly noticeable as time wore on. Lester's intriguing style continued to be one of the more original efforts to emerge from the group." p. 96
