Number of pins diminished. Anne Lenhart asked Dr. Dorothy Kosinski about it and she relayed a conversation she had with Dorothea Tanning. The number and density of pins in the works should NOT be monitored or mapped. The pins are to be installed in a "Duchampian" manner with no attention to placement. 

New pins were purchased for it in 2008.

Geography unverified: 1979 Dorothea Tanning was in New York or France (some sources say she moved to New York the following year, some say '79) but she made trips to New York.
