1975.82, Diane Arbus, Untitled, 1968

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The photographs of Diane Arbus, which only became well known after her death, with the major exhibition organized by the Museum of Modern Art, are some of the most haunting images in 20th century art. Her subjects, often dealing with the grotesque or bizarre, are penetrating and intense. This example, an unpublished original photograph, has a sense of intimacy which is unusual in an Arbus photograph.
