GENERAL DESCRIPTION  
Hiroshi Yoshida was the first of a multi-generation family of well-known printmakers. He began his career as a painter whose work was very popular in Europe and America. In the 1920s, he began making prints based on his paintings, and he was equally successful in both media. Yoshida specialized in landscapes and cityscapes depicting places all over the world, including India. The vitality and color of his prints and paintings made him very appealing to collectors.
