GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Geoff Winningham's series A Texas Dozen consists of 15 photos recording public participation in popular rituals—college football, the rodeo, and high school proms. Although often capturing unattractive or painful moments, he always does so with a certain charity and kindness. His crisp black and white photographs recall society's reenactment of flawed myths with dignity and pleasure.
