GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This Hellenistic Greek necklace is composed of globular beads and amphora-shaped pendants, alternately arranged. Both the beads and the pendants are made from gilded glass. Cylindrical tubes constructed from ribbed sheet gold are used as finials. Like Archaic Greek necklaces, composed Hellenistic necklaces were usually strung on perishable strings. For this reason, the proper arrangement of the different elements is often uncertain.
