GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Not Vital’s body of work includes drawings, paintings, sculptures, installations, and buildings, but all his pieces are defined by a pursuit to emulate the beauty of nature. This work celebrates the already sculptural beauty of a lotus bud. The stainless steel gives the structure a polished hardness and permanence. The material might imply that the flower’s blossom is eternally obstructed, forever concealing the beauty of the flower, but instead the elegance of the form is emphasized.
