GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This teaspoon is part of a twelve-piece place setting designed by Prairie School architect George Maher for the lavish summer home of Ernest L. and Grace Watkins King. The tiger lily and flattened arch motifs of the custom-made flatware in the set repeat design elements that were seen throughout the home, thereby creating a unified decorative scheme—a trademark of Maher's work as well as that of other Prairie School architects.
